Joka is turning 30!
What started as a small family dairy has blossomed into a memorable brand that graces the refrigerators of countless Macedonian households.
To celebrate this milestone, we’d like to share the story of Joka and how it all began on a humble property near Strumica.
The Early Days of Joka
Mlekara Joka was born from the dreams and ambitions of a family from Strumica. These aspirations gradually became a reality and culminated in the opening of our dairy on April 29, 1993.
From that moment, Joka transformed from a mere vision into one of the region’s first private dairies.
From the outset, we partnered with esteemed farmers who prioritize quality. The journey to success was challenging but rewarding. Throughout the years, we’ve had to modernize our operations, adopt contemporary processes, and meet global standards. For a small business, it was no easy feat, but our love and commitment to quality dairy products helped us move forward.
Even in the nineties, our dairy upheld quality standards, with samples from our farms promptly tested (as they still are) in our laboratory.
Thirteen years after our inception, in 2006, Joka received the HASSR certificate for implementing international quality standards. From then on, our company’s growth accelerated.
The Secret to Joka’s Success
For the people of Strumica, Joka’s brand is a part of everyday life – in homes, at the table, in bakeries, restaurants, and cafes. Joka is ubiquitous.
Our success story wouldn’t be what it is without the diligent work of our partners and employees, as well as the support of our customers. We process 7,000 liters of quality raw material daily, contributing to Macedonia’s dairy industry.
However, we owe much of our success to our customer-friendly approach. Our products are tailored for households, and our production and communication aim to meet the needs of our consumers.

Today, three decades since our dairy’s founding, Joka offers a wide range of quality dairy products suitable for every meal of the day.
Our lineup includes 10 types of dairy products, such as:
